HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
Human Papillomavirus is a DNA virus which infects humans. HPV infection causes warts. More than 100 varieties of human papillomavirus (HPV) exist. Different types of HPV infection can cause warts on different parts of your body. More than 40 different strains of HPV affect the genital area. Most HPV infections don't lead to cancer. But some types of genital HPV can cause cervical cancer. HPV is suspected to be one of the major cause of cervical cancer worldwide as well as India. Molecular testing of HPV is important to identify the type of virus on basis of type drug therapy is decided.

Sample Type

100 mg Endometrial tissue or Cervical curetting or 100mg Tissue Biopsy in 2- 4ml Sterile Saline in Sterile Vacutainer (Red top) / Cervical Swab (similar to PAP smear swab) / 5 ml Sputum or 5 mlBAL (Broncho Alveolar Lavage) or 5 ml Pleural Fluid in Plain Sterile Vacutainer (Red top)
